A Christmas For Remembering...

Here are the ornaments that I made for the memorial Christmas tree service on Sunday. There is one for my Uncle Turtle, one for my Aunt Lil and one for Mark's grandfather Sewell. I am going to add their names on a little sash draped across each cross.

Family Filled Weekend

Here are Allyson's socks:
I finished them a few days ago, but with Thanksgiving and Grandma & Papa visiting I forgot to take a picture of them. This weekend we also made some Christmas ornaments and cookies. Which my little cookie monsters love to do!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Mom~
When I was young, I didn't know how very, very lucky I was to have such a loving, caring mother. I know I didn't alway fully appreciate the wisdom behind your words and the the love behind your actions. I took it for granted that you were always there for me, and I didn't always stop to think you might be putting your own dreams on hold to make sure that mine came true. But even though I didn't fully comprehend the depth of your devotion, I loved you with a childlike love, and you were the center of my world. And I want you to know, Mom, that with every year my love for you keeps growing...and now I understand more fully and completely what a wonderful mother...friend...you truly are! Thank you Mom for being my first and best friend...I love you! Thank you for giving me the best possible start in life...for giving me the safe and secure place to love and grow!
Happy Birthday & Happy Halloween!

Thomas' Field Trip to EZ Orchards Pumpkin Patch

Here are some pictures of Thomas' preschool's field trip to the EZ Orchards Pumpkin Patch. It was a very rainy day when we went, but Thomas and his classmates had a blast looking for pumpkins and picking apples. Stay tuned for the carving of Thomas and Allyson's pumpkins...

Happy Halloween!

Remembering....Home...Traditions....Family....

(Pause music player before watching video)

Something to think about...What do I want my children to remember about me? The love of God, family, traditions...will my home be somewhere where my kids always want to come home too? Will they remember the love, the memories, the promise of God?
What do you want your kids to remember about you?

Song: Remember Me
Artist: Mark Schultz

Remember me
In a Bible cracked and faded by the years
Remember me
In a sanctuary filled with silent prayer

And age to age
And heart to heart
Bound by grace and peace
Child of wonder
Child of God
I've remembered you
Remember me

Remember me
When the color of a sunset fills the sky
Remember me
When you pray and tears of joy
fall from your eyes

And age to age
And heart to heart
Bound by grace and peace
Child of wonder
Child of God
I've remembered you
Remember me

Remember me
When the children leave
their Sunday school with smiles
Remember me
When they're old enough to teach
Old enough to preach
Old enough to leave

And age to age
And heart to heart
Bound by grace and peace
Child of wonder
Child of God
I've remembered you
Remember me

Age to age and heart to heart
Child of wonder child of God
Remember me
Age to age and heart to heart
Child of wonder child of God

East to West by Casting Crowns

As I was in the middle of my morning pray and praying for my husband's Aunt Linn, who was just diagnosed with breast cancer, this song was on the radio...just hearing this song spoke to me...that no matter where we are God is always with us...and just how powerful prayer is...

Memories of my Uncle Fred

As many of you may know, my Uncle Fred recently passed away. My cousin (who is 7) wrote a very special memory of her grandpa in the guest book:

"papa was my bestes grampa he was the bestes papa in the wold. He wod awase mack me smile. I love you." -blythe

A translation from her mother:

"papa was my best grandpa, he was the best papa in the world. He would always make me smile. I love you." -blythe

Many memories were shared, but I found this the most touching.

For My Silly Little Monkey
